inverter construction: requirement on how to construct power inverter

There are requirements you must consider before constructing a power inverter which you ought to understand before embarking on your project, As the name suggests the basic function of an inverter is to invert an input direct voltage (12VDC) into a much larger magnitude of alternating voltage (generally 110VAC or 220VAC).

The inversion process of an inverter can be achieved with the help of the following components;

Transistor, light emitting diode, capacitor, resistors, mosfet, integrated circuit (I.C), transformer etc. for low and medium output transistorized inverter are suitable but for high power output.

Required instrument
Digital/analogue meter , Soldering iron ,Cutter and pliers , Screwdriver and tester

Components

Resistor: resistance, as the name implies, a resistor is a device which resist the flow of electron. It is commonly made of carbon composition and wire wound resistor.

Capacitor: capacitance is the ability of a dielectric to store electric charge. The unit is the farad and the types are ceramic, air, electrolytic, mica and paper.

Diode: is a semi-conductor material which made up of silicon or germanium. It is use as a rectifier or power conversion. It can also be used to direct the flow of electric current and used in protection to any return voltage or current.

Transistor: is the combination of two diodes chemically combined together the two diodes formed by the base forward diode and kept low by the doping. Two forms of transistors are PNP and NPN

NOTE: there other equipments and electronic component which are not listed here.
