BAND INFO
Search for a musician and, unless you have a particularly obscure taste in music, your results page will feature a more information box containing lots of useful facts, such as record labels associated with that artist and where the musician hails from. Most of this information is clickable, so if you’re hankering after a Google Map of your favourite band’s home town, then you’re in luck.
The box also contains related imagery; click any image to launch the image viewer, or click More Images to view additional visual content.
Finally, the more information box makes some suggestions for other musicians you might be interested in, based on your original query. Click any that catches your eye to start an entirely new Google search – who knows, you might find your next musical obsession!
FIND A FILM
Search for your local cinema (or if you don’t have a venue in mind, search for ‘movies in’ followed by a location) and Google supplies a list of all the movies showing on that particular day, alongside each film’s rating, genre and trailer. If you searched for an actual cinema, you’ll spot the familiar more information box. This typically contains some photos of the venue, a description and an average rating based on visitor reviews. Click the ‘…Google reviews’ link to read the full reviews, and then consider clicking ‘Write a review’ to add your thoughts to the mix. Venue-related information boxes also contain a Google Map preview and a Directions button that gives you instructions on how to find the cinema. Finally, the more information box contains thumbnail previews of similar venues. As usual, click any of these to perform a search based on that new subject. Expect a similar experience when you are searching for other types of venues, such as museums, galleries, theatres, music venues and bars.
