To use the Advanced settings, perform a search, click the gear symbol in the top-right corner, select Advanced Search and then you’re to start laying down some ground rules. If you’ve ever found exactly what you’re looking for, only to have forgotten it by the time you next sit down at the computer, you’ll be happy to know that Google keeps a record of everything you search for. Scroll to the bottom of the Search Settings page and select ‘Search history,’ then enter your Gmail password to gain access to your entire search history, including a breakdown of your most frequently visited sites and favourite search terms.
You can even review your search activity by date and hour. To scrub an item from Google’s record, select the corresponding checkbox and click the ‘Remove items’ button.
You can select Visual Search from the left-hand menu to review all of the images you’ve used for your Search by Images. If you want to remove any of these images from your history, select the image’s checkbox and click ‘Remove items.’
Weather and flights
Type weather: followed by a location to view the forecast for the coming week. Select a particular day and toggle the Temperature, Precipitation and Wind buttons to view more information. If it’s a flight you want to track, enter the flight number to view a pop-up containing all the info for that flight.
CHECK THE CURRENT TIME
To find out the current time anywhere in the world, enter a country, state or city followed by ‘time’. In addition to showing the time, Google provides information on the location’s time zone and date.
SUNRISE AND SUNSET
In order to see the time of the upcoming sunrise or sunset anywhere in the world, simply enter the location you are interested in followed by either ‘sunset’ or ‘sunrise’.
