There are strong indications that Blackberry will be equipping their upcoming devices with Google Android OS.
Recall that Blackberry earlier introduced Blackberry10 devices in a bid to regain back its lost glory in the on-going device tussle amongst its major competitors, but even at that they still did not win the hearts of many. After failing in their attempt to bounce back as number one smartphone makers, Blackberry is finally relinquishing its smartphone dominance to the likes of Android, Apple and Windows based devices, and has reiterated that it will be shifting focus from device manufacturing to software and device management.
And now the plan to incorporate Android in their upcoming devices according to Blackberry anonymous insider is a move geared towards consolidating their new line of interest.
The Canadian based company is currently working on a new device management system known as BES12 and it strongly believe that with BES12, the company will not only be capable of handling and managing only Blackberry devices but as well as Android, iOS and Windows powered devices.
Rumour has it that Blackberry is currently working on a Slider device that is set for launch later part of the year, and that the Slider devices will combine Android touchscreen and Blackberry physical keyboard.
If Blackberry finally launches an android device as envisaged, it could also entail that it will be ready to give out its patented security features on Blackberry 10 to those other platform; but that doesn’t sound much of a big deal for the struggling company as they have carried out similar gesture in the past when they let out their BBM sole unique feature to competing platforms.
For many that are keeping close tab to this gradually unfolding event, they see the move by Blackberry to launch android device as the action that will finally nail the coffin on Blackberry devices.
But for now, I can say that only time will tell of what Blackberry will eventually turn out to become in the closest future.
